Opening Games Day for our Eleventh Season is all set for Sunday October 24th at 4pm. This season for the first time we welcome all of the L I Rebels Mites who are spread out among our 6 teams. Although the program is full we are maintaining a waitng list of potential players in case we add players later or someone drops out. The Dix Hills Mites will be represented by our Mini-Mites (5-6 yr olds) at the opening of the Tanger Mall Rink in Deer Park on Nov 20th at noon. On Dec 7th the Town of Huntington will hold it's grand opening of the new state-of-the-art ice rink being built next to the existing rink. Spring/Summer Clinics will begin again in April. The registration form will be posted early in 2011.

Spring Clinics for beginners and intermediates begin April 8th thru May 6th, then pick up again on July 8th. Registration form can be found under 'Important Forms' on this website. Our Winter program with games and practices and "Fun with Fundamentals" will start our 11th season in October. Clinic attendees and returning players will be allowed to pre-register at the end of August before we open to the general public.

Our Tenth Season opens up with 3 games on Sunday Oct 25th, 4-5pm at the Dix Hills Rink, admission is free.

Come see some of the Dix Hills Mites in action between periods of the Nov 7th New York Islanders vs Atlanta Thrashers game. Discounted tickets are available through Coach Lou.

The Summer and Fall Clinic is underway. Join in at any time as it is a continuous program of skill development. Find the registration form under 'Important Forms' and the schedule under 'Our Schedule'.

Registration forms for the Winter House League will be emailed to all Clinic participants during the last week of August ahead of its release to the general public. Be sure to send it in right away with your deposit as the program tends to fill up pretty quickly.

The 2008-09 program is now full but we are accepting applications for the wait list. Thursday night clinics for all Beginners and Intermediates will resume in April and extend throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. To see the Dix Hills Mites in action check this website for 'Our Schedule'.

The 2008-09 USA Hockey Winter Skill Development House League will begin October 19, 2008 for all players born '00 or after. Registration forms will be emailed to summer clinic registrants and returning players at the end of August. On September 1 we will open up registration to the general public and the form will become available on this website and at the rink. Summer/Fall Thursday night clinics continue into October - check website under 'Our Schedule'

Registration form for the 2007 Dix Hills Mites Skill Development Spring-Summer Clinic for those born in '98 or after is online here under 'Important Forms'. We are on the ice April 12 for five Thursdays and then back again July 5 through October. It is "pay as you go" and you may join in or attend at any time. We will be working on skating, puck skills and scrimmage each week.

The second half of our season starts jan 4 with the second annual coaches-fathers game. The Mites return to practice on Jan 8 and resume their game schedule on Jan 11. All the Mite teams play at Nassau Coliseum on jan 31 and attend the Islanders-Panthers game that evening. In February we'll have our team and individual photo day. In March we'll have our age group races to identify the fastest Mites and close out the season with Awards ceremony and season-ending party at the rink on March 14. Once-a-week clinics will resume in April and continue throughout the Spring and Summer except when the rink closes for maintenance in June.

I am in need of a helmet in good condition and maybe some shoulder pads for our spare parts collection - at least I'll always have a sample of each piece of equipment at the rink as kids lose or forget things only to find out just before game time. Thanks.

As of today 8/14/02 the winter dates posted under 'Our Schedule' is pretty much finalized. There could be minor changes later. The Registration form will be online under 'Important Forms' by the end of the month - I will email it to returning players and clinic skaters so they get first shot at registering before the general public - print it out and send it in with your deposit.
